Let’s be honest…what’s the point of having a website if no one can find it?
Everyone knows that a website is important, most marketers out there say that a website is the first thing that you should focus on when starting your business.
But have you ever stopped and thought to yourself WHY?
Because there many people out there who paid for a website (or maybe designed it themselves), and it’s just out there floating in the cyber universe but they are not actually getting anything from it.
A website SHOULD give you an opportunity to show up in front of a relevant audience. A website SHOULD be bringing you in consistent leads. But for some reason this is not the case for most people. That is why you may be googling, "how to generate more leads."
In my experience I’ve noticed there are 3 reasons why you’re not getting leads off of your website:
1. Your Website Can't Be Found on Google
The top reason why your website is not bringing you in any leads is because it can’t be found in Google’s search results.
EVERYONE uses Google nowadays for E V E R Y T H I N G. If your website doesn’t show up on the first page of Google, you are missing out on a lot of potential eyes on your services.
So how the heck can you find out if your website is optimized for Google’s search results?
You can use my favorite FREE SEO tool called Ubersuggest. Input your website’s URL and it will give you a breakdown of your SEO “score,” if you are showing up for any keywords, and which page you are showing up on Google’s search results. This tool is so eye-opening and a great place to get started to see if you need to put some focus in on SEO.
2. Your Customer Doesn't Resonate With Your Message
The second reason of why your website is not brining you any leads is because your message does not speak to your potential customer.
A quick way to tell if this is the case is to log into your Google Analytics and see if you have a high bounce rate. If you do— this means that people are jumping on your webpage and quickly exiting out.
You want to make sure that your website points out key points that your potential customer needs to hear:
What problems you solve.
Why you have the authority to help them.
Why they should trust you.

3. Your Design is Outdated.
The last part of why your website isn’t bringing you in any leads is simple: THE DESIGN IS OUTDATED.
To be honest, if you have not touched updated your website in the last 2 years, it’s time for a refresh.
I recently started working with a new client who told me they were getting 0 leads off of their website nowadays. I audited their website and found out that they were ranking NUMBER 1 for the main keywords in their industry. The message on their website was very clear. They were getting decent traffic to their website.
So what was the problem?
The last time they updated their website was over 5 years ago. It’s important to keep in mind that design trends change. In today’s world of technology, with Instagram being one of the most popular apps— we are so use to seeing everything be so visually appealing. The second someone logs on to a website and the design is off— they don’t even feel inclined to look further because it’s not “pretty.” Sad but true and I’ve seen it countless of times.
PS— this is a big reason why you should work with a professional designer. You can create a website yourself but if you’re not a designer at heart, it will show and will affect your results.
